WHAT IS COACHING?

It’s a path of self-knowledge and personal transformation that you traveled in partnership with your coach to make the most of your potential, personally and professionally.

The three pillars of coaching – trust, honesty and revealing questions – support a process of change that can significantly improve your leadership, work and life abilities.

TRUST

Coaching starts from the premise that there is nothing wrong with the client: he has all the resources he needs to handle his life and profession. The task of the coach is to support the discovery and use of these resources, as well as to stimulate and accompany a creative process of finding solutions to the problems the client is facing.

HONESTY

Absolute trust in the client’s potential goes hand in hand with unconditional honesty: the coach is not a fawning, on the contrary, one of his roles is to tell the sincerely the client exactly those things that friends and colleagues do not say.

REVEALING QUESTIONS

One of the most important tools the coach has at his disposal was patented in ancient Greece by the father of Western philosophy, Socrates. These are questions, often awkward, that provoke the mind and soul to a process of self-knowledge and revision of the ideas received.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF COACHING

The situations in which coaching can be helpful are countless. Below, some of the most common:

  • You have to make an important decision with implications in professional and / or personal life, and you cannot decide
  • You have been promoted and you have not been in charge of any team yet
  • You want to become „someone”, but you have not decided who yet
  • Lately, the service has become a burden and you find it increasingly difficult to come to the office

WHAT COACHING DOESN’T REPRESENT

In order to have the right expectations and to maximize the results of the coaching process, it is important to define from the beginning who you are and what is not the role of the coach.

  • coach is a traveling companion who believes in you and helps you to maximize your potential.
  • consultant offers advice and experience and solves problems specific to his field of expertise.
  • mentor is chezas for you, offers you tips, experience, privileged information, access to professional circles and recommendations.
  • teacher educates you by sharing his knowledge with you.
  • therapist helps you overcome bottlenecks that have begun for a very long time and that have, in most cases, the source in the past.
  • trainer helps you learn new skills and abilities.

OBJECTIVES OF THE COACHING PROCESS

Although all the approaches presented above are valuable and contribute to personal development or transformation, coaching has two fundamental objectives that, regardless of the theme, are worth highlighting and exemplifying:

INCREASING AWARENESS

A first objective of the coach is to help the client „light up the dark corners of his mind” and see things in perspectives that he has not looked at until now.

As the level of awareness and understanding grows, the client begins to have new action and behavioral options that he can assume.

TAKING RESPONSIBILITY

After discovering the new options, the coach’s goal is to help the client make a decision, take some actions, and follow up these actions alongside with them.

WHAT IS TRANSFORMATIONAL COACHING

In my view, when talking about transformational coaching, we are talking about a profound approach that proposes to the client to discover and understand the inner resorts that influence his perception of reality and behaviors.

In the transformational approach, we are pursuing the awareness of values, beliefs, norms, expectations, and patterns of thinking, consciousness and unconsciousness that influence our well-being and performance.

Thus, the client acquires understanding and control over his / her own state and gains more motivation and power in relation to the decisions he / she makes.

Beyond those listed above, my approach to Transfromational Coaching further integrates 2 aspects:

NEUROSCIENCE

Integrating neuroscience into the coaching process helps the client understand the „hard” fundamentals that predispose him to certain perceptions or reactions.

A better understanding of his/ her own brain will help him/ her anticipate and adjust his/ her reactions in a way that maximizes his/ her results.

CE ESTE COACHINGUL?

Este un traseu de autocunoastere si de transformare personala parcurs de tine in parteneriat cu coach-ul in vederea punerii in valoare a intregului tau potential, personal si profesional.

Cei trei piloni ai coaching-ului — increderea, onestitatea si intrebarile revelatoare — sustin un proces de schimbare care iti poate imbunatati semnificativ abilitatile de lider, munca si viata.

INCREDERE

Coaching-ul porneste de la premisa ca nu e nimic in neregula cu clientul: acesta are toate resursele de care are nevoie pentru a se descurca in viata si in profesie. Sarcina coach-ului este sa sprijine descoperirea si utilizarea acestor resurse, precum si sa stimuleze si insoteasca un proces creativ de gasire a solutiilor la problemele cu care se confrunta clientul.

ONESTITATE

Increderea absoluta in potentialul clientului merge mana in mana cu onestitatea neconditionata: coach-ul nu este un lingusitor, dimpotriva, unul dintre rolurile lui este sa-i spuna clientului verde-n fata tocmai acele lucruri pe care prietenii si colegii se feresc sa i le spuna.

INTREBARI REVELATOARE

Unul din cele mai importante instrumente pe care coach-ul le are la dispozitie a fost patentat in vechea Grecie de parintele filosofiei occidentale, Socrate. Este vorba despre intrebările, de multe ori incomode, care provoaca mintea si sufletul la un proces de auto-cunoastere si de revizitare a ideilor primite de-a gata.

LA CE FOLOSESTE COACHINGUL

Situatiile in care coaching-ul poate fi de ajutor sunt nenumărate. Mai jos, cateva dintre cele mai des intalnite:

  • Ai de luat o decizie importanta, cu implicatii in viata profesionala si/sau personala, si nu te poti hotari
  • Ai fost promovat(a) si nu ai mai condus echipe pana acum
  • Vrei sa ajungi „cineva”, dar nu te-ai hotarat inca cine anume
  • In ultima vreme, serviciul a devenit o corvoada si gasesti tot mai greu motivatia de a veni la birou
  • Ti s-a spus ca „nu stii sa lucrezi cu oamenii”
  • Vrei sa fii mai performant(a), dar ceva in tine nu te lasa sa reusesti
  • Ti se pare ca seful/sefa sau colegii tăi te supra-estimeaza si te temi ca-i vei dezamagi
  • Intre „acasă” si birou s-a cascat o prapastie de netrecut
  • Nu te simti apreciat si ti-ai pierdut motivatia de a mai depune efort

CE NU ESTE COACHINGUL

Pentru a avea asteptari corecte si pentru a maximiza rezultatele procesului de coaching este important sa definim inca de la inceput care sunt si care nu sunt rolurile coach-ului.

  • Un coach este un tovaras de drum care crede in tine si care te ajuta sa-ti pui in valoare intregul potential.
  • Un consultant iti ofera sfaturi si experienta si rezolva probleme specifice domeniului lui de expertiza.
  • Un mentor se pune chezas pentru tine, iti ofera sfaturi, experienta, informatii privilegiate, acces in cercuri profesionale si recomandari.
  • Un profesor te educa impartasind cu tine cunostintele lui.
  • Un terapeut te ajuta sa depasesti blocaje care ti-au dat batai de cap de foarte multa vreme si care au, de cele mai multe ori, sursa în trecut.
  • Un trainer te ajuta sa inveti deprinderi si abilitati noi.

OBIECTIVELE PROCESULUI DE COACHING

Desi toate abordarile prezentate mai sus sunt valoroase si contribuie la dezvoltarea sau transformarea personala, coaching-ul are doua obiective fundamentale care, indiferent de tema lucrata, merita subliniate si exemplificate:

CRESTEREA CONSTIENTIZARII

Un prim obiectiv al coach-ului este sa-l ajute pe client sa „aprinda lumina in colturile intunecate ale mintii sale” si vada lucrurile din perspective din care acesta nu a mai privit pana acum.

Pe masura ce nivelul de constientizare si de intelegere cresc, clientul incepe sa dispuna de noi optiuni actionale si comportamentale pe care si le poate asuma.

ASUMAREA RESPONSABILITATII

Dupa descoperirea noilor optiuni, obiectivul coach-ului devine acela de a sprijini clientul in a lua o decizie, a isi asuma niste pasi de actiune si in a urmari alaturi de acesta punerea lor in practica.

CE ESTE COACHINGUL TRANSFORMATIONAL

In acceptiunea mea, cand vorbim despre coaching transformational, vorbim despre o abordare de profunzime ce propune clientului descoperirea si intelegerea resorturilor interioare care ii influenteaza perceptia despre realitate si comportamentele.

In abordarea transformationala urmarim constientizarea valorilor, credintelor, convingerilor, normelor, asteptarilor si tiparelor de gandire, constiente si inconstiente, care ne influenteaza starea de bine si performanta.

Astfel, clientul capata intelegere si control asupra propriilor stari si dobandeste mai multa motivatie si putere in relatie cu deciziile pe care si le asuma.

Dincolo de cele enumerate mai sus, abordarea mea in Coaching Transfromational mai integreaza 2 aspecte:

NEUROSTIINTA

Integrarea neurostiintei in procesul de coaching ajuta clientul sa intelegea fundamentele „hard” care il predispun la anumite perceptii sau reactii.

O mai buna intelegere a propriului creier il va ajuta sa isi anticipeze si ajusteze reactiile intr-un mod care sa ii maximizeze rezultatele.
